granting of Bumming Powers would benefit usBut we must pre-

vide in the Agreement that they should run at lmmet three

Earnings on the basis of division as laid down above for

using ew rails and station staff, and that they should

pay subject to a yearly minimum of half the Third Clas

carrying capacity of the train as regarda Third Class

Whenever required that the haulage should

be done by us over our own Section the Chinese voula

further pay a charge of b par cent of the drons Beceipts

earned on our fection. They would while on our Section

have to guarantee to run subject to the Rules and Regulam

lions of the Kowloon Centon Railway and either side would

have to guarantee the a«ɗe værking of the Rolling Stock.

They would have to be liable for all claims arising from

accidents on the British Section due te defective Rolling

Stock or dåsekaæge disregard of Rules while the British

would be responsible for accidents due to maintenance or

bad working of the Station Steff.
